Pilates, or Contrology as Joe himself named it, is accessible to almost anyone and was originally designed to help rehabilitate injured soldiers in WW1. Pilates puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. Clients range from youth to elderly, from fitness fanatics to the person looking to establish a new fitness routine. Many professional athletes include Pilates in their training regimen to help maximize strength and increase flexibility and control while keeping the muscles long and lean.

Vannesa Storie is a native of California and grew up enjoying an active life style. Throughout her youth, playing competitive volleyball would help her to keep fit. As Vannesa grew older, her fitness routine changed in between working and attending school. At the age of 20, she became over weight and needed to make a life style change. Vannesa was able to lose most of the weight by utilizing an intense combination of cardio and weightlifting, but she could not attain the muscle definition she was looking for. The rigorous cardio and weight lifting caused a strain on her joints and she developed a severe case of plantar fasciitis. Vannesa then turned to Pilates for a low impact alternative to the cardio weight lifting routine.
After just two months of practicing Pilates, Vannesa was so excited about her mind and body improvement due to Pilates, she became inspired to begin her Pilates teacher training. Vannesa was fortunate to apprentice under Mariel Filippone, a 2nd generation instructor for the Pilates Method. Filippone studied under Lolita San Miguel, an internationally acclaimed first-generation Pilates Master Teacher, Elder and one of the last instructors certified by Joseph Pilates. Vannesa has studied both classical and contemporary styles of Pilates. Integrating her love of cardiovascular and strength training with rehabilitation and injury prevention included within the Pilates method, Vannesa has created a fun fast paced fitness style able to accommodate the needs of any level of client. Vannesa's goals are to help people break through fitness walls and achieve fitness goals they never thought possible, just as Pilates did for her. Vannesa believes every dream can be attained given the right tools.
